unit 8

Brenda: You look troubled. What's bothering you?
David: Actually, there is something I've been wanting to tell you...
Brenda: Look, if it's about the other night, it really doesn't matter. I shouldn't have made that comment.
David: No, no, it has nothing to do with that. Or maybe it has, in a certain way.
Brenda: I knew it. If I'd only kept my mouth shut.
David: Look, I agree with you. The Beatles are old-fashioned and I wish I'd never played the record.
Brenda: It's not a bad music. It's my fault. I shouldn't have called them boring old dinosaurs.
David: No, I am to blame. I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. It's just that, that record brings back very special memories to me.
Brenda: Look, I understand. My parents used to play The Beatles as well.
David: No, you don't understand. I was in my early twenties when I first heard that song.
Brenda: Ah, right. I see what you mean. Well, you look fine for your age.
David: Oh, shut up!
Brenda: No, What I mean is that I don't care how old you are ... and besides, I've got something to tell you. I'm not 35, I'm 42
David: What!
