Oir WMA2. (A) an interview (Listen & Read)

A:

I'd like to ask you a few questions, Mr Svenssen. It won't take too long.

B:

That's all right. Go ahead.

A:

Who do you work for exactly? I understand it's a division of JVC.

B:

Yes, the full name is Japan Video Corporation.

A:

Japan..... Video..... Corporation..... And you're one of the Directors of the company. Excuse me for saying, but you're very young.

B:

Yes...well... it's a very young company.

A:

And where do you live and work?

B:

In the United Kingdom.

A:  But you are from Finland?

B:

Yes, that's right.

A:

And what does your company do? Do you make hi-fi's and the like?
B: Yes, we make video recorders, DVDs and all kinds of home entertainment.

A:

Do you watch DVDs at home?

B: No, I don't. I prefer other hobbies. When I'm at home, I like to write. That takes up a lot of my time.

A:

That's very interesting. What sort of things do you write?

B: Novels and short stories, mainly.

A:

Is this one of your books?

B: Yes, it is.

A:

Sanctuary.. Ah, your name's Svensen. Let me change that in my notebook. S-V-E-N-S-E-N. But there's one thing I don't understand. You run a large division of an international company and you write novels. How do you find the time?

B: Well, I travel around the world so I have free time to work in the evenings, in my hotel room, and, of course, at the weekends.
