The worst job I've ever had was when I was at the ripe old age of 20. It was my first job as a door to door salesman. I had to call people at home-a type of telemarketing- and I had to try to sell them encyclopaedias. If they showed any interest, then I had to make an appointment with them and go and see them. The worst thing of all was that when I was making the calls my boss was always around listening to me. He told me that I couldn't accept "no" for an answer and that I had to keep them talking or listening for at least five minutes. It was awful. Most of the people just hung up after about thirty seconds. If I managed to get any clients, then I would have to go and see them along with the boss and he would try and sell them the encyclopaedias. He told me to listen and learn from him, but I don't think he had any more success than I did as he resigned at the same time as me.
